Penumbra

Penumbra was a character I've had in the back of my head for a long while, even outside of this project. I had every intention of including her from the minute I began.

Penumbra is a witch that draws power from the moon and is a character almost entirely of my own creation (albeit not exactly the most original). As an initial brief, I want Penumbra to be a faceless powerhouse. She needs to be menacing and ominous, but not convey any expression. I like the idea of having her showcase no outward emotion, as this adds to the air of ominousness about her character.

Penumbra draws lots of inspiration from the occult, which has strong ties into Wicca and Paganism, as well as runes, elements from which I want to include in my design. In terms of narrative and lore, I want Penumbra to be a servant of the Blood Moon, a malicious entity that is sealed away, but manifests as the blood moon, the natural phenomenon in which the moon takes on an ominous red colouration.
